Suzanne Woods Headshot.jpg

“...a delightful diva, spinning out golden tone; revealing fine musicality and plenty of voice to spare”

-American Record Guide

“Suzanne Woods was by turns vulnerable and obsessive as Norma, whose musical highlights included the sweetly sad “With One Look” in the first act, “New Ways to Dream” and “The Perfect Year,” which Woods performs without the kitschy embellishment that would have reduced her character to a mere caricature. The soprano gives a memorably poignant performance, never more so than in Norma’s “mad scene.” Woods’ voice complemented the famous image of Norma descending the staircase of her mansion one final time and moving, a la Salomé, into a blurry fade-out — and into cinema history.”
